A celebration of Saint Lucia's rum heritage, the Admirable is a strong India Pale Ale brewed by Antillia Brewing Company and aged for three months in rum casks from a local Saint Lucian distillery. The result is a limited-production beer, produced in small batches, that marries the bold bitterness of an IPA with the warmth and complexity of rum barrel maturation.
Golden amber in colour, it opens with aromas of rum, molasses and tropical fruit. On the palate it is bold and complex, with hop bitterness balanced by notes of rum sweetness, caramel and vanilla from the cask ageing. The finish is long and warming. A uniquely Caribbean beer and a genuine collector's item, with only around 50 cases produced per batch.
