Vouvray Brut - Loire, France

Produced by the Monmousseau family in the historic tuffeau caves of Montrichard in the Loire Valley, this sparkling Vouvray is crafted from 100% Chenin Blanc using the traditional method, with secondary fermentation in bottle. Monmousseau has been making sparkling wines in Vouvray since the house was founded, and their Brut even graced the Swedish royal court in the 1950s.

Pale gold with golden glints and fine, lively bubbles. The nose is fresh and elegant with notes of white-fleshed fruit, Granny Smith apple and a touch of brioche. On the palate it is crisp, well-balanced and mineral, with the natural vitality of Chenin Blanc carrying through to a clean, refreshing finish. A wonderful and affordable alternative to Champagne.
