Named after the Portuguese word for jaguar, Yaguara is produced on the Meneghel family farm in Paraná, southern Brazil, by fifth-generation cachaça makers under the guidance of Master Blender Erwin Weimann. The sugarcane, of the organic Java variety, is harvested by hand and pressed within 24 hours of cutting to preserve all of its freshness and vitality.
The juice is fermented using cultivated local yeast strains, then distilled in a 750-litre copper pot still before being rested in stainless steel tanks for a minimum of eight months and triple-filtered for exceptional clarity. The Branca is bottled unaged at 40% ABV, delivering the pure, vibrant character of the cane without the influence of wood.
On the nose it offers tropical fruit, papaya, mango, guava and coconut with fresh grassy notes. On the palate it is smooth and clean with a natural sweetness and a long, slightly spiced finish. The spirit of a great Caipirinha.
