L'Aurage 2016 - Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, France

The Castillon project of Louis Mitjavile, son of the legendary François Mitjavile of Tertre Rotebœuf. On 20 hectares of clay-limestone slopes bordering Saint-Émilion, the 2016 is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, vinified in concrete vats and aged 18 months in 80% new French oak. Ripe plum, black cherry, mocha and cedar, with a supple, seamless texture and a long, spiced finish.
