Volnay is the most elegant village on the Cote de Beaune, and Clos des Chenes is one of its finest Premier Cru sites, perched at 270 metres with limestone and marl soils. Hand-harvested Pinot Noir aged 18 months in oak in Beaune. Silky, spicy and complex, with dark cherry, dried flowers and a long, structured finish. Rated 92 points by James Suckling. Built to age.
