Named after the Royal Recognition granted by King Louis XV to Maison Rémy Martin in 1738, authorising the planting of new vines at a time when this was strictly forbidden in France, the 1738 Accord Royal is a Fine Champagne Cognac blending over 240 eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne (65%) and Petite Champagne (35%) crus. Aged between 4 and 20 years with a notable proportion of new French oak barrels, it sits boldly between a VSOP and an XO in character: more complex and oaky than the former, more accessible than the latter.
Nose: plum, fig marmalade, toffee and toasted bread.
Palate: rich and velvety, with butterscotch, baked spices, caramel and a hint of dark chocolate.
Finish: long, warm and well-balanced, with lingering nutty and oaky notes. Best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in a classic Sidecar.
ABV: 40%
Volume: 700ml
Origin: Fine Champagne, Cognac, France
