Michel Couvreur Fleeting Four Casks Whisky, France/Scotland

A limited single malt distilled in Scotland in August 2012 and aged for over 11 years in two successive cask types in Michel Couvreur's cellars in Bouze-lès-Beaune, Burgundy: five years in Oloroso sherry casks, then six years in old Pinot Noir Burgundy barrels. The result is a layered and elegant whisky with notes of candied fruits, caramel, dried fruits and a subtle vinous character, finishing long and harmonious. Only 1,800 bottles produced.
