Michel Couvreur VJ Maturation Single Malt Whisky Vin Jaune, France/Scotland

A rare limited-edition single malt distilled in Scotland and aged for nine years in former Vin Jaune casks from Jura producer Stéphane Tissot, in Michel Couvreur's underground cellars in Bouze-lès-Beaune, Burgundy. The oxidative influence of the Savagnin grape imparts striking notes of walnut, beeswax, curry, quince and dried fruits, with a taut, saline texture and a long, complex finish. Only 2,500 bottles produced.
