Henri Dosnon Alliae - Champagne, France

The Alliae is the flagship cuvée of Champagne Dosnon, crafted by Davy Dosnon in Avirey-Lingey in the Côte des Bar. An equal blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay, it is fermented and aged for 10 months in French oak barrels before spending 55 months on lees. Bottled as a Brut Nature with zero dosage, it is a deliberate expression of terroir without any addition of sugar.

The Côte des Bar shares the same Kimmeridgian limestone subsoil as Chablis, and that minerality defines the wine. Floral and precise on the nose, with pear, white peach and candied citrus on the palate, carried by piercing acidity and a long, saline finish. Rated 96/100 by Gault & Millau.
