Lestang 1573 L'Illustre Voyageur - Sancerre, France

The prestige cuvée from Château de Lestang, produced from the estate's oldest Sauvignon Blanc vines on a rare 100% silex terroir in the heart of Sancerre. Only around 1,470 bottles per vintage. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in demi-muid oak barrels, aged 12 months on fine lees, then rested a further year in bottle before release. Bergamot, green apple and white flowers, with a taut, mineral palate and a long, elegantly bitter finish.
