Domaine Graeme & Julie Bott Kāmaka Syrah Terroir de Seyssuel - IGP Collines Rhodaniennes, France

From micaschist and gneiss soils at Seyssuel, facing Côte-Rôtie across the Rhône. A 100% Syrah planted by hand on steep rocky slopes, aged 15 months in French oak. The name Kāmaka means "rock" in Māori, a nod to Graeme's New Zealand roots. Intense violet, cooked raspberry and cocoa, silky and elegant on the palate with a long mineral and spicy finish.
