Jean-Etienne Chermette Pinot Noir "Champs Blancs" - Beaujolais, France

Pinot Noir from clay-limestone soils at Légny, in the Pierres Dorées area of southern Beaujolais, a family estate dating back to the 17th century. Vinified mostly in whole bunch, with 6 months ageing split between stainless steel and a small portion of new oak. Supple and generous, with notes of raspberry, cherry and dried flowers, silky tannins and an open, charming finish.
